Nesting - Home Decor Theme
I've spent the last month and a half in a daze - moving just takes so much energy that I haven't felt up to blogging. After spending weeks surrounded by boxes, I'm finally peeking my head out and past being overwhelmed to pulling things out and building our "nest".
For me, it takes one thing to inspire an entire room and I guess I wasn't inspired, but last weekend changed all of that! We decided to browse a few furniture stores to look for a coffee table/end table set. While we found what we wanted as far as that goes, it wasn't our plan to find an area rug - As soon as I saw the rug, the creative juices started flowing and I immediately felt a coastal theme brewing for our home.

Here's the rug!
Everyone that knows me, knows I love the beach! A couple of weeks ago, we flew (for the day) to just sit on Coronado Beach in California (only an hour flight from Arizona). Nothing soothes my soul like a walk on the beach and hearing the ocean waves.
Love the way the sand ripples along the seashore
The beautiful sand dunes covered in succulents
As I always do, I picked up a few beach treasures and these will be incorporated into our coastal theme home. I look forward to sharing with you the progress in decorating as this isn't my strength, so any ideas are welcome!
I'm curious, do you have a theme for your home? (this is a first for me!)

I really love that rug and can't wait to see how you continue the coastal beach theme!
ReplyDeleteAnd the size is perfect!! Will definitely be posting updates as the rooms come together.
